Well after weeks of travelling we are all finally back in Bahrain.

I just wanted to write a quick email to thank you for letting us stay in your fabulous villa!! We had a really really lovely time - despite all of us being ill at some point during the holiday - the view was spectacular!!

Will definitely put a good word on Trip Advisor.

Really great to meet you tonite in Ag Nik. As discussed if we can leave by 3pm latest on Friday that would be great, we've had a fab holiday and its not been the easiest with The diversities of a 16 year old a 20 yr old ( the best of friends!!) and two grannies aged 81 and 87 !!! ideally we should be shipping them all home and staying for another week just the two us!!

However we have to go home for work but hope to be back soon. The villas are amazing and te people unbelievable. We love Crete but particularly love Elounda and Anemos Villas. We will write you a great review. You deserve to do well, Part of us wants to keep this special place a secret!! We already have friends at home asking us about our holes and will have no hesitation of recommenipng... Provided we have looked first!!!!

We are planning to hire a boat tomorrow am ...ish and then will be her in the afternoon before our last supper :(( I always luv Hols but are usually ready to go home home when the time comes... Not this year... That says it all!!

our sincere thanks again for a wonderful ten days in Villa Meltemi. As always everything was immaculate and the chicken delicious and thank you also for all the other 'treats' during our stay. Tamara always looks after us so well and it is such luxury not to have to make ones bed most mornings, as well as clean the floors and bathrooms! Mark was thrilled with the car too, thank you so much George - excellent air conditioning as well, thank heavens.

We have come back to rain, rain and more rain at the moment!! As I mentioned to you Despina we are moving in three weeks time now, I will send you a change of address card when I get them printed, we are still waiting to sign the first document in the purchasing process and then will go on to completion on the 1 August.

Our thanks again and if not this year (because of the move - although I will definitely need a break!!) we will see you again next year.

If you want to do nothing in beautiful surroundings with a to die-for view in a luxurious, supremely well-equipped villa then Meltemi villa is for you. The villa had every amenity we could ask for and more, the sun terrace is idealic, the hire car was suitable and the location great.

Can't wait to go back!!

“fab villa fab views fab holiday”

We were a party of 6 ladies, who have visited elounda several times , we opted for the villa as we like freedom to eat out and come and go as we pleased. My sister booked it (good choice) as usual. We found the villa lovely with georgeous views over the bay, you could sit here all day and watch over the sun rise and fall. Despina appeared with goodies that we all loved, she was very entertaining with her stories. The villa had everything you could have wanted . It would be helpful to have brochures of things to do and takeaway menus if you need to stay in and chill. The villa is only 5 mins from elounda by taxi so is very handy. We hired cars to come and go, there is an Lidl supermarket about 10mins away so you can stock up on wine and fresh fruit. All in ala a lovely peaceful holiday in a lovely setting, ps a hot tub overlooking the bay would be really special.

Thank you so much for yet another amazing stay in Villa Meltemi - we had such a wonderful time and all the amazing food Despina dropped off for us. I have to mention the morning we were leaving - the most delicious nibbles were dropped off by Despina, just what we needed before we left for the airport, thank you. It is just such luxury waking up each morning seeing that the pool has been 'refreshed' , tables and chairs made tidy and then later on the beds made, towels replaced - your staff are just amazing. I couldnt believe it when a baking tin was dropped off to me in order for me to make a rather large spinach and chicken greek pie arrived at the door - how many people renting villas get that sort of service!? As always the ease of picking up our car and dropping off makes all the difference to a holiday and knowing that you are always there for us if we have any problems - needless to say so far, five years on we have not had any problems but I know you helped neighbours last year who had a medical problem. We totally recommend Anemos Villas to anyone who, if prepared to drive into Elounda/Agios, although of course, one can try and catch the bus, will benefit from such an amazing experience!! The real joy is the villas are above Mirabello Bay with a lovely breeze so sitting outside in the sun makes all the difference throughout the day and into the evening - there are large areas on the top floor to have drinks and relax even in the evening.

Our thanks again to you both and we just cant wait for our return to your relaxing villa if not this year definitaly next.

"Elounda's best kept secret"

George and Despina were extremely hospitable and accommodating.

For starters, they arranged to have our rental car delivered to the airport for us at 1:30 am and provided a guide for us back to the villa.

Despina and her daughter Ioannis greeted us with a delicious welcome meal. On several occasions she titillated our palates with local baked items.

She is also a plethora of information as far as where to go, what to do and must hit restaurants.

The villa was ideal for families. We all enjoyed swimming and relaxing poolside, as well as dining al fresco. A visit to the Six Senses Spa is a must!

We had a mishap and had to go to the ER. Despina and Ioannis met us at the hospital to translate and provide assistance.

They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a good time. We look forward to returning and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

"Fantastic week at Villa Notos"

We stayed for one week at the end of June in Villa Notos and had a fantastic time.

George and his wife Despina were very welcoming and incredibly helpful recommending restaurants, beaches and places to visit, nothing was too much trouble.

We were met at the airport and then upon arrival at the villa we were greeted with a lovely home made meal, wine and water which was just what we needed after our journey.

The villa itself was perfect with everything you needed and amazing views.

Elounda is a great place to stay with plenty of tavernas and nearby things to do.

We will definitely be recommending to our friends and hope to visit again soon.

"Stunning!"

Stunning is just one of many words I would describe of this villa.

Everything was 1st Class, from the wonderful welcome meal (Chicken, Greek salad, pitta, tzatziki, wine, water and freshly picked nectarines), the stunning views, the beautiful, modern and spotlessly clean accommodation and the wonderful Despina, who made us feel so welcome and was always happy to give recommendations of local tavernas etc.

We will definitely be back next year, possibly taking over the 3 villas! We could not fault this villa 10/10.

Third Visit

We have recently returned from Villa Meltemi (owned by George Aretakis - www.eloundavillascrete.com) - our third visit.

The villa was yet again perfect, clean, fresh, wonderful pool overlooking the Mirabello Bay - you cant wish for more.

A car is needed but we are more than happy to drive backwards and forwards to this 'haven'.

The villa is cleaned every day by a lovely lady, pool cleaned and there are many treats popped into the villa by George's beautiful wife - Despina.

This part of Crete is so beautiful and the people on Crete are so incredibly friendly and helpful we just cant wait to return.

The booking process was so straight forward and you were so helpful throughout, especially the package of information on the area that you had send just after booking.

Arrival could not have been easier, we met Mike easily at the airport and followed him back to the Villa in the hire car. On arrival we were blown away by the amazing view and the sheer luxury of the villa. The pictures you sent had not done it justice! We could not fault the villa, everything we needed was available for our party of 4 adults and one child… in fact it was difficult for us to go out and explore as we loved hanging out at the villa so much!

The delicious welcome meal and daily treats delivered by Despoina were much appreciated, as was both the local information you provided in advance and Despoinas advice once we were there.

A huge thank you for all your help in rescueing us the week before last.  It was such a relief to find ourselves back in Villa Meltemi after our somewhat disastrous arrival elsewhere.  Thank you both for all your help and patience and your daughter also, please tell her we loved the Meze restaurant in Agios, the food was amazing - even had a bite of celebrity viewing among us!!!  Despina the chicken dish you popped into the oven was delicious, and at such short notice, well there was no notice was there!!!?  as were the other treats you dropped off for us. We had a good journey back and arrived on time back to London and then had to wait an hour for our luggage!!!  oh to be back in Crete in your amazing villa.  So now my project is to get some people together to enjoy the experience with us next year, unless we are able to come back later this year.  I am popping over to Rhodes next week to stay with friends and I know I will look down on Crete, if we fly over, with a longing to return.  Anyone who reads this review would be mad not to book their holiday with George.  Also a thank you for another relaxing afternoon down at Sixth Senses along with the 20% discount just added a new dimension to the holiday.

We stayed in this villa at the end of September 2009.

We travelled through Plora Travel (George Aretakis - owner of company and villas with his beautiful wife Despina). www.eloudavillascrete.com

We were met at the airport and taken to our hire car and then followed him all the way to the villa (good hours drive but well worth it!!) - wonderful service!

On arrival we walked into the entrance to be greeted by the smell of lemon chicken wafting through the kitchen, we were really hungry and this was great to find, along with wine and various other bits in the fridge. We unpacked and settled in and Despina arrived with maps and full of fantastic local knowledge, restaurant ideas, where to go etc - her cousin has a gt taverna on the sea overlooking Spinalonga and the food was to a good standard and lovely waiters.

The villa itself was absolutely perfect for myself and my husband and 20 year old son. We slept upstairs with large bedroom, ensuite shower room and HUGE balcony overlooking the sea. Our son slept in an equally nice double room downstairs with full windows onto the terrace with chairs and table resting by the sky blue swimming pool (complete with shower) - his bathroom was great as well. They provided lovely fluffy white towels, gowns, pool towels, delicious soaps, shower jell etc (Korres - one of my favourite brands!!).

The outside of the villa was for this villa (grass areas with the other 2 villas) was around the pool area with a covered area with tables and chairs and BBQ.

Fatima, the maid, came every day to clean and did a superb job and she came in with various Greek delicacies as the week progressed and was always happy and smiling and very helpful (even with my minimal knowledge of Greek!!).

So, yes - I would absolutely recommend this villa or one of the two either side, which looked equally as inviting. You do need a car. We ventured to Plaka and Elounda for meals out, Agios for more action!! oh! and for self catering their is a Lidl in Agios, which saved us a lot of money on supermarket shopping.

After some more adventures this year we hope to return there one day.

“Beautiful villa, with very friendly host”

We stayed at Villa Avra for a week in June, and loved it - the villa itself is really pretty with a lovely garden and pool, and great views. With the added bonus of regular deliveries of food from Despina, the villa owner!

It's about 20 minutes walk from Elounda village, so best to have a car, although taxis are pretty easy.

“Still cant keep away”

We returned again this year in June for 10 nights and everything was the same, welcoming meal, villa immaculate and Tamara to greet us.

As soon as we return home I start to plan when our next visit will be - there are so many beautiful places to visit during the early summer months but for us it feels like a second home and we relax as soon as the car slips down the driveway, we just cant keep away.

I would still recommend Villa Meltemi very strongly, the other two villas are equally as beautiful and well situated and accommodate higher numbers.

Our thanks to George and Despina and the wonderful Tamara for all hard work to keep everything immaculate for us with minimal disruption, nothing is too much trouble. Of course a mention for the gentleman who cleans the pool each morning as well.

We found the friendliness in Elounda, despite their worries, was as genuine as always and we had some delicious meals as well as buying meat from the butcher (he does fantastic lamp chops for BBQ and also sells English bacon and sausages - the last two not for us but good to know they are available). The Friday market is a must for anyone who enjoys cooking on holiday and you can buy the most delicious feta from a van there, it is gorgeous. Fresh and plump vegetables, best juicy oranges for squeezing for breakfast and much more.

English newspapers are now available from the shop on the corner nearest to the beach. I still buy and exchange all my reading from the English book shop, they will even order anything special one would like to read on arrival if given a few weeks notice.

We would recommend the villas and the area to anyone looking for peace and tranquility with many optional fun experiences.

“EXCEPTIONAL”

We actually visited in June but I am a little late with my review! This was our second visit to Anemos Villas and if anything it was better than the first visit! The villas are immaculately clean and very well decorated with everything you need for your staff. George and Despina are the most perfect hosts as the owners and nothing is too much trouble to them. The maid comes in daily to clean inside and out and the man comes to check on the pool. If you are visiting Elounda look no further that Anemos Villas. The first year we stayed in Meltemi which was ideal for my husband and I (and you could take a small family), but this year we "upgraded" and stayed in Notos (which is a larger villa with spectacular views) because we had our very "grown up children" with us! Can't wait to go back again next year.

We just wanted to thank you for, once again, ensuring our stay at Villa Avra was such an enjoyable one. Having the car ready at the airport ensured an easy transit to Elounda, and we were most grateful for the lovely food that was there on our arrival, as well as the cakes and biscuits delivered whilst we were there. It was lovely to meet Joanna, and so kind of her to bring us some parting gifts. Thank you also for all your help in sorting out a taxi to the villa for Anna and Jonny - it was such a lovely birthday surprise when they arrived. All in all it was another memorable and very happy holiday.
